Bloomberg — Microsoft announced a hardware and services partnership for visual-audio products, with the aim of reducing the cost of audio and video equipment.
The Windows 10 Technical Preview for the Surface Pro and Surface Studio products, as well as a range of audio devices including the SoundStar Micro Series and the SoundSpark audio-processing solution, will all be available in October, the company said on Monday.
Microsoft’s goal is to reduce the cost and time spent developing audio-video products by a factor of up to 30, the Microsoft product partners said.
The new hardware partnership is the latest in a string of hardware and service partnerships announced in recent months by Microsoft.
Earlier this year, the software giant announced its new cloud-based Xbox Video gaming platform.
And earlier this month, it announced a new hardware line of Windows devices for Windows 10 devices.
Microsoft and Microsoft partner the Windows ecosystemAs part of its commitment to the Windows 10 ecosystem, Microsoft said the new hardware partnerships would be the first in a series of new hardware partners that it announced in January.
These partnerships include the Windows Embedded Platforms and the Windows Operating System, a set of components Microsoft is developing to create a single platform for devices.
